Custom Packaging Built for Luxury & Jewelry

The luxury packaging market exceeded $20 billion in 2024 and continues to grow as premiumisation trends reshape consumer expectations across all product categories. Luxury packaging is no longer exclusive to high-end fashion houses and jewellers — it has become the standard for any brand that wants to compete in the premium tier, from artisan chocolatiers to limited-edition spirits.

Brisk Packaging's luxury and jewelry packaging collection centres on rigid box construction — the foundation of premium presentation. We work with 1.5mm to 4mm chipboard wrapped in a curated selection of specialty papers including linen, silk, metallic, and pearlescent finishes. Every rigid box can be fitted with custom inserts in flocked velvet, foam, satin, or cardboard to cradle products perfectly.

For jewelry brands specifically, we understand that the box is an integral part of the value proposition — many jewellery buyers display their pieces in the original box long after purchase. Our magnetic closure rigid boxes, ring pillow boxes, necklace display boxes, and velvet-lined gift sets are engineered to enhance the perceived value of every piece from engagement rings to fine watches.

Industry Packaging Trends

  • 1Magnetic closure rigid boxes becoming standard for mid-to-luxury price points
  • 2Sustainable luxury paradox driving demand for premium eco-materials (FSC, recycled board)
  • 3Personalisation and monogramming commands 20–30% premium price points
  • 4Matte black with gold foil emerging as the dominant luxury aesthetic in 2024–2025
  • 5Multi-functional packaging (boxes that become display cases or storage) increasing retention

Expert Packaging Tips

  • Use 2mm chipboard minimum for rigid boxes — anything thinner feels flimsy and undermines brand perception
  • Velvet flocking on inserts adds a tactile luxury element that significantly elevates perceived value
  • Embossed logos on linen or silk-texture paper are a hallmark of high-end brands
  • Magnetic strength matters — use N52 magnets for a satisfying, premium close
  • Inner lid printing with your brand story or care instructions is expected at the luxury tier

Luxury & Jewelry Packaging FAQs

Answers to common questions regarding logistics, materials, and ordering.

What is the standard chipboard thickness for luxury rigid boxes?
For most luxury jewelry and gift boxes, we recommend 2mm chipboard for the base and lid. For very large or heavy gift sets, 2.5mm–3mm provides better structural integrity. Ultra-luxury applications like high-end watch boxes sometimes use 4mm board for maximum rigidity and weight.
Do your rigid boxes come with velvet inserts?
Yes. We offer custom velvet-flocked foam and cardboard inserts precision-cut to your product dimensions. Velvet comes in over 20 colours — black, navy, burgundy, blush, and ivory are most popular for jewelry. We can also supply foam inserts wrapped in satin, suede effect, or raw foam for different price points.
How do magnetic closures work on luxury boxes?
We embed neodymium rare earth magnets into both the lid and base during box construction. The result is a smooth, satisfying magnetic close that requires no latches, clasps, or ribbons. Magnet strength is customised to the box size — small jewelry boxes use N35 magnets, while large gift boxes use N52 for a stronger close.
Can you produce rigid boxes with ribbon pull tabs?
Yes. Ribbon pulls are a popular feature for high-end chocolate, jewelry, and gift boxes. We offer satin and grosgrain ribbon in custom colours, either glued to the inner base or running through a custom-cut channel in the box wall. We can also source custom-printed ribbon with your logo at additional cost.
What is the difference between a two-piece rigid box and a magnetic closure box?
A two-piece (lift-off lid) rigid box is the classic jewelry box format — a separate base and lid that lift apart. It is more traditional and works well for rings, earrings, and small items. A magnetic closure (book-style or clamshell) box opens on a hinged spine and closes with embedded magnets. It is preferred for medium-to-large items and feels more dynamic to open.
