Metallic paper is produced by applying a vacuum-deposited aluminum layer to a paper substrate, then coating it with a clear lacquer to protect the metallic surface and enable printing. Available from 90gsm to 250gsm, it produces a brilliant mirror-like or brushed metallic effect that communicates luxury, quality, and premium positioning — without the cost or weight of actual foil stamping on every element.

Brisk Packaging uses metallic paper for premium wine and spirits labels, gift wrap, shopping bags, luxury folding cartons, and product inserts where a full-surface metallic aesthetic is desired. Unlike foil stamping, which applies metallic coverage selectively to specific design elements, metallic paper provides continuous metallic coverage across the entire sheet — ideal for designs where the metallic surface itself is the design canvas rather than an accent.

The printability of metallic paper has improved significantly with UV and LED-curable ink systems that adhere reliably to the lacquered metallic surface. Translucent inks create a colored metallic effect, while opaque whites and pastels contrast strongly against the mirror background. For brands in wine, spirits, gourmet food, and luxury gifting, metallic paper enables high-impact packaging at production volumes and costs well below those of rigid box or fully foil-stamped alternatives.
